Every year, October 1st is observed as World Vegetarian Day all around the globe with the aim to promote different benefits of being a vegetarian and the life-enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism. World Vegetarian Day Significance

The observation of World Vegetarian Day was established by the North American Vegetarian Society in 1977 with further promotion from International Vegetarian Union in 1978.

The original aim behind observing this day was to promote the joy, compassion and life-enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism and bring awareness to the different benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle- ethical, environmental, health and humanitarian.
